Why A Pashmina Scarf Is So Special….

A Pashmina wrap is not your everyday kind of scarf you wear in downtown Kirkintilloch

A pashmina (sometimes incorrectly spelt pashmena) is a neckwear that can compliment whichever look you have chosen to go out with. In addition to this, the Pashmina scarf is a fashion accessory that can be worn or used by men and women from all age groups. By stating this, it is imperative that one notes this shawl turn worn outlook into a lively and trendy look.

One of the significant uses and advantages of the Pashmina fashion accessory is that it is used to keep one warm. The pashmina shawl has been made of a material that easily encompasses the heat of one’s body.

The name Pashmina is as of a result of warm, soft and fine cashmere that has been used to weave the fashion accessory.

Among its number of uses, the shawl can be tied to one’s handbag which will play a significant role in giving one a glamorous look they desire. Of course traditionally the scarf is worn around the neck as a scarf. All one needs to ensure they look great when doing so do is combine it with a good pair of jeans or any dress.

For those that may not have an idea on what present to buy for their mothers, aunties, sisters or grandmothers for Christmas (or any other occasion), a pashmina wrap is a great present.

Those that are not familiar with their origin, the wrap from www.scarfandscarves.com are made in Thailand.

Caring for your pashmina shawls

Maintaining one’s Pashmina scarf is vital as it will play a huge role in ensuring that your wrap stays pristine for a long time.

Due to the materials that have been used to make it, you should ensure that it is:

  • washed separately from other colored clothes using hair shampoo in a lukewarm water;
  • avoid using harsh chemicals such as bleach;
  • allow the item to dry flat away from sunlight;
  • press the item with moist cloth or fabric; and
  • twisting the Pashmina shawl can ruin its shape, thus remove excess water after washing by gently squeezing it.

The Authenticity Of the Pashmina Shawl

A number of people are purchasing fake Pashmina scarves of which they are duped that they are the legit merchandise they say to be. Be very diligent when purchasing.

An original Pashmina wrap feels velvety to the touch, and the label on them should indicate that they have been made by 70% or more cashmere.

Pashmina shawls tend to be a little more costly than one otherwraps on the market.

Kirkintilloch (/ˌkɜːrkɪnˈtɪləx/; Scottish Gaelic: Cair Cheann Tulaich)[3][4] is a town and former royal burgh in East Dunbartonshire, Scotland. It lies on the Forth and Clyde Canal and on the south side of Strathkelvin, about 8 miles (13 km) northeast of central Glasgow. Historically part of Dunbartonshire, the town is the administrative centre of the East Dunbartonshire council area, and its population in 2009 was estimated at 19,700.[5]

“Kirkintilloch” comes from the Gaelic Cair Cheann Tulaich or Cathair Cheann Tulaich, meaning “fort at the end of the hill”. This, in turn, may come from a Cumbric name, Caer-pen-taloch, which has the same meaning.[6] A possible reference to the site is made in the 9th century Welsh text Historia Brittonum, in which the Antonine Wall is said to end at ‘Caerpentaloch’. The fort referred to is the former Roman settlement on the wall and the hillock is the volcanic drumlin which would have offered a strategic viewpoint for miles to the West, North and East.[7] The etymology is sometimes taken literally as “Kirk in tilloch” (“church in the field”). Its long name is often shortened by locals to the colloquial Kirkie or Kirky,[8] as reflected in a number of business names in the town.
