to Kirkintilloch

Kirkintilloch (/ˌkɜːrkɪnˈtɪləx/; Scottish Gaelic: Cair Cheann Tulaich)[3][4] is a town and former royal burgh in East Dunbartonshire, Scotland. It lies on the Forth and Clyde Canal and on the south side of Strathkelvin, about 8 miles (13 km) northeast of central Glasgow. Historically part of Dunbartonshire, the town is the administrative centre of the East Dunbartonshire council area, and its population in 2009 was estimated at 19,700.[5]

“Kirkintilloch” comes from the Gaelic Cair Cheann Tulaich or Cathair Cheann Tulaich, meaning “fort at the end of the hill”. This, in turn, may come from a Cumbric name, Caer-pen-taloch, which has the same meaning.[6] A possible reference to the site is made in the 9th century Welsh text Historia Brittonum, in which the Antonine Wall is said to end at ‘Caerpentaloch’. The fort referred to is the former Roman settlement on the wall and the hillock is the volcanic drumlin which would have offered a strategic viewpoint for miles to the West, North and East.[7] The etymology is sometimes taken literally as “Kirk in tilloch” (“church in the field”). Its long name is often shortened by locals to the colloquial Kirkie or Kirky,[8] as reflected in a number of business names in the town.

Why A Cashmere Scarf Is So Special….

A Cashmere wrap is not your normal day kind of shawl you wear in downtown Kirkintilloch

A cashmere (sometimes wrongly spelt cashmire) scarf is something that can compliment whatever look you have chosen to go out with. In addition, a cashmere neckwear is an accessory that can be worn or used by men and women of all age groups.

One of the significant uses and advantages of the cashmere neckwear is that it is used to keep one warm. The cashmere scarf has been made of a material that easily encompasses the heat of one’s body.

Among its numerous uses, the wrap can be tied to one’s handbag which will play a significant role in giving one a trend setting look they desire. Of course traditionally the wrap is worn around the neck as a wrap. All one needs to ensure they look fantastic when doing so do is co-ordinate it with a good pair of jeans or any dress.

For those that may not have an idea on what present to buy for their mothers, aunties, sisters or grandmothers for Christmas (or any other occasion), a cashmere shawl is a sensational present.

Those that are not familiar with their origin, the scarf from www.scarfandscarves.com are made in Thailand.

Caring for your cashmere scarf

Maintaining one’s cashmere scarf is vital as it will play a huge role in ensuring that your shawl lasts for a long time.

Due to the materials that have been used to make it, you should ensure that it is:

  • washed separately from other coloured clothes using hair shampoo in a lukewarm water;
  • avoid using damaging chemicals such as bleach;
  • allow the item to dry flat away from sunlight;
  • press the item with moist cloth or fabric; and
  • twisting the cashmere shawl can ruin its shape, thus remove excess water after washing by gently squeezing it.

The Authenticity Of the Cashmere Scarf

Many people are ordering fake cashmere shawls of which they are duped that they are the quality merchandise they say to be. Be very careful when ordering.

An original cashmere wrap feels velvety to the touch, and the label on them should indicate that they have been made by seventy percent or more cashmere.

Cashmere wraps tend to be a little more costly than one othershawls on the market.
